Super Kings star MS Dhoni was seen riding his vintage bike on the streets of Ranchi, a day after returning to his hometown following Chennai’s exit from the Indian Premier League. Dhoni seems to have taken his favourite machine out for a ride to take his mind off the heartbreaking defeat in CSK’s last IPL 2024 league game in Bengaluru on Saturday, May 18.
MS Dhoni was spotted riding a Yamaha RD 350 bike in a video captured by a fan. The former India captain was seen entering his residence in Ranchi after the ride. Notably, Dhoni and his family returned to Ranchi from Bengaluru on Sunday, May 19. Dhoni was seen leaving the airport in an SUV and fans tried to get a glimpse of the CSK star, taking selfies from outside the car at the airport.
MS Dhoni’s wife Sakshi Singh Rawat had shared Instagram stories of them reaching their residence in Ranchi on Sunday. Dhoni, Sakshi and their daughter Ziva were also spotted at the Bengaluru airport on Sunday morning.
Dhoni and his love for bikes is well-established. The World Cup-winning former captain has often been spotted enjoying rides along the highways in Ranchi. Dhoni has an envious collection of bikes and cars at his residence in Ranchi. In a video, former India fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad gave a glimpse of a two-storied garage at Dhoni’s residence.
Dhoni might have played his last IPL match as the Super Kings lost to RCB, getting knocked out of the playoffs race. CSK needed to get to 201 in their chase of 219 against RCB in Bengaluru to sneak through to the playoffs. However, the 5-time champions fell 10 runs short of the qualification mark, losing the match by 27 runs.
MS Dhoni was on strike when CSK needed 17 runs in the last over. The veteran finisher hit the first ball for a 110m six, but got out in the very next delivery. CSK were not able to get past the finish line and lost out on the opportunity to defend their title.
