Watch: Irfan Pathan’s hilarious celebration with Yuvraj Singh after WCL victory


Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan celebrated India Champions’ triumph in the final of World Championship of legends 2024 in a hilarious manner with brother Yusuf Pathan and captain Yuvraj Singh. Notably, India beat Pakistan Champions by five wickets in the final on Saturday, July 14 at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Following their win, the entire team celebrated their win jubilantly as they posed with the trophy. Pathan also shared a hilarious video of their celebrations on social media. In the video, Yuvraj can be seen thanking the Pathan brothers for the win.

Further, Irfan reveals his phone conversation with Yuvraj where he asked him to just hit sixes during the tournament. However, Yuvraj cuts in to say that he needed Irfan to bowl in the final.

The ‘Sixer King’ further hilariously says that Irfan denied to bowl the fourth over after and asked him to choose one between his batting or him bowling the fourth over. In the end, the trio hug each other to celebrate their victory.

Both Pathan brothers were seen at their vintage best in the big final. Irfan picked up one wicket with the ball after bowling three overs. The left-arm seamer managed to thrash Younis Khan’s stumps in the 12th over and roared ecstatically in celebration. On the other hand, Yusuf played a brilliant knock of 30 (16) during India’s chase to keep India in the game.

India beat Pakistan by five wickets

Following his brother’s dismissal, Irfan walked in and finished off the game with a boundary. As a result, India successfully chased down the target of 157 in 19.1 overs and won the match by five wickets.

Ambati Rayudu was awarded Player of the Match for his brilliant half century off just 30 balls. On the other hand, Yusuf was adjudged Player of the Tournament for scoring 221 runs from seven innings and picking one wicket.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan scored 156/6 in their 20 overs with Shoaib Malik top scoring with 41 (36). Sohaib Maqsood also scored 21 (12) before losing his wicket against Vinay Kumar.
