Vadodara: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today jointly inaugurated the Tata Aircraft Complex for the production of C-295 aircraft in Vadodara, Gujarat, along with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. While 16 of the aircraft will be delivered directly from Spanish aircraft manufacturer Airbus, the remaining 40 will be manufactured at the facility, which is India’s first private sector military aircraft final assembly line (FAL).

It will involve developing a complete ecosystem from manufacturing to assembly, testing and qualification, delivery and maintenance throughout the aircraft’s life cycle. In 2021, the Ministry of Defence signed a contract worth Rs 219.35 billion with Spain’s Airbus Defence and Aerospace for the procurement of 56 aircraft.
