The fans were in awe of Virat Kohli’s brilliant athleticism after he was involved in a brilliant run-out to dismiss Dhruv Jurel during RCB’s eliminator match against RR at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on May 22, Wednesday. Kohli was at his electric best, giving his everything at the crease to help RCB reach the final. Green bowled a back-of-length delivery and Jurel powerfully pulled to the left of Kohli at deep square.
Kohli charged at the ball and threw it flat into the bowler’s arms at the non-striker’s end. Jurel’s casual approach to the second run cost him his wicket. It was a sublime effort from Kohli, as Green collected the ball and knocked it off the bails. Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor, in attendance at the match, was elated by the brilliant run-out. Earlier, during RCB’s match against PBKS, Kohli had executed a spectacular direct hit to dismiss Shashank Singh, turning the tide in RCB’s favor. RCB were put to bat first and the RR bowlers were all over the batters. RCB could not forge any solid partnerships throughout the innings and ended with a below-par total of 178 runs. After a solid start, RR floundered in the chase mid-way through the innings as they were reduced to 112 for 4. However, Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer’s 45-run stand ensured a win for RR.
RR will now face SRH in the Qualifier 2 match in Chennai on May 22, Wednesday.
