1 Keep your hairclean. There are anumberofpurifying shampoos available for purchase
that help cleanse thehair of any buildup or
residue that ispreventing the extensions from sticking to the hair.
Do not use conditioner or other hair products after
bleachingthehairbecause you will add the
substancethatwas just removed with thebleaching shampoo.
If you’reworriedthat your
purifying shampoo willremovemakeup too easily, look for ashampoo that advertises
sensitive skin and is made from organic materials instead of
more chemicals.
2 Dry the hair well.
If your hair is completelywet, the glue from the extensions will not stick to the

3 Make a spacer for your hair. A partner will cut small sections of your hair to incorporate the
extensions and protect your scalp from burns.Forthis you will need a piece of
cardboard about three inches in diameter.
Cut cardboard into a circleabout three inches wide.
It doesn’t have to be aperfect
shape, but a curved shapeworks best.

the first piece you fusetogether and should be about the same size as the hair extensions.
Secure the separatortothe hair with bobby pins or bobbypins,ifdesired.
6 Attach an extension to splitends.Bend the
end of the extension at the hairline so that it starts as close to the scalp as possible.
7 Use a flat iron to secure the extension.
Hold the tip of the extension and therootofthe
hair in the flat iron for a few seconds. Remove the flat iron for
seconds and repeat. Be careful not to burn your hair in the process.
8 Wrap fused locksin your natural hair. Rollthe
throughyourstillwarmhairwith your fingertips to blend the extension with your natural hair.

9. Remove the hair divider. Take another section of the same bristle row and replacethe
withthecardboardspacers on the new bristlestring.Remember to be careful withnewlymerged
sections.
10 Repeat the above steps todivide and jointhebristles.
Distributethe
layers evenly ontoptomakethemlookmore natural. Continue this process until you have used all
extensions.
11. Style your hair.
Use a
brush with no sharp or bumpy ends at the end of yourhair so you don’t pull out your newly fused extensions. There should be no problemwith
expandingafter your basestylingroutine, as long as you are careful not to damage the base of the fusion.[5]
