Data has played a key role in decision-making for centuries, even before the digital age. A well-known story from Emperor Akbar’s court highlights this idea. One day, Akbar asked his advisor, Birbal, how many crows were in Agra. Birbal confidently gave a number. When Akbar questioned how he was so sure and what if the actual count was different, Birbal cleverly responded that if there were more, some must have flown in from nearby cities, and if there were fewer, some must have gone to visit their relatives elsewhere. This clever response illustrates how estimation and logical thinking, fundamental aspects of data science, have been applied for centuries.
Today, data science is one of the fastest-growing fields, helping businesses make informed decisions. While many assume that coding/programming skills are a must to enter this domain, that’s not entirely true.
Career Options For Non Coders
Several careers allow individuals with strong analytical thinking and business understanding to thrive in data science without coding expertise. Here are five roles shaping the future of this field, even for those who don’t code:
