Watch: Virat Kohli arrives in Mumbai alongside Anushka Sharma and kids

India’s star batter Virat Kohli, along with his wife Anushka Sharma and their children, Vamika and Akaay, arrived in Mumbai on Friday after their visit to Vrindavan. The family touched down at Kalina’s General Aviation (GA) terminal, which is part of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Virat Kohli, known for his engaging personality, waved at the waiting photographers as he arrived with his family, capturing the attention of fans and shutterbugs alike.

Before their arrival in Mumbai, Virat and Anushka had visited Vrindavan, where they had the opportunity to meet Shri Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj. During their visit, a viral video surfaced showing Kohli and Anushka seeking blessings from the spiritual leader. In the video, Shri Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj was heard praising Anushka for her role in keeping Virat grounded despite his massive success. He credited her for helping Kohli stay humble and faithful.

Kohli and Anushka had returned to India after the conclusion of the Test series against Australia, where Kohli was part of the Indian squad. As the duo continues their personal and professional journeys, Kohli will now shift his focus to the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy in February 2025, where India will look to defend their title.

Kohli’s Australia tour recap

Virat Kohli’s recent tour of Australia, his fifth trip down under, had a mix of highs and lows. Kohli, one of the most prominent players in international cricket, had high expectations resting on his shoulders. The series began well for him when he reached a significant milestone, becoming the batter with the most Test centuries on Australian soil. He scored his seventh Test ton during the Perth Test. However, Kohli’s form dipped as the series progressed, and by the end, he had accumulated only 190 runs in nine innings at an average of 23.75.

The latter part of the tour was particularly challenging for Kohli, as he only managed 85 runs across seven innings in the final four Tests. These Tests, which India lost 1-3, also saw Kohli making headlines for off-field incidents, including a controversial shoulder bump with Australian player Sam Konstas. The International Cricket Council (ICC) sanctioned him for this altercation. Kohli also attempted to provoke the Australian crowd with a sandpaper gesture, further adding to the drama of the tour.

In light of his performance in Australia, some former cricketers have suggested that both Virat Kohli and fellow star batter Rohit Sharma should return to domestic cricket and play in the Ranji Trophy to work on their red-ball form. As India prepares for future international assignments, including the ICC Champions Trophy, it is hoped that both players will refine their skills and come back stronger.

For now, Kohli’s focus will be on his upcoming commitments with the Indian team, while his family time in Mumbai gives fans a glimpse into his life off the field.
