The real problem with welfare

Governments keep making new plans to give money to people who need help. But these plans aren’t as good as having real jobs. All political parties need to understand this. In Maharashtra, the government is giving money to young men and poor women every month. They’re doing this because many people don’t have jobs or enough money.
But giving people money isn’t the same as helping them get jobs. The government thinks they’ve solved the problem of unemployment by giving out money. But that’s not really true.
Here’s why this is a big deal:
- When there are job openings, way too many people apply. This shows that lots of people need work.
- Many young people with education can’t find jobs.
- More than half of India’s people need free food from the government.
- More people are asking for work through a government program called MGNREGA.
All of this is happening even though India’s economy is supposed to be doing well. The country is growing, but many people still can’t find good jobs.
Giving people money helps for a while, but it doesn’t fix the real problem. What India really needs is to create more good jobs for everyone. To fix this, we first need to admit there’s a problem with not having enough jobs.
