Smart Life, Smart Living Conclave 2024: Fittr Co-Founder Highlights How Tech Has Fused With Hea

One of India’s biggest online fitness communities, Fittr, co-founder Jyoti Dabas at the Smart Life Smart Living Conclave 2024 shed some light on how technology has teamed up with health to improve our lifestyle. While speaking at the conclave organised by ABP Live, Dabas gave a few examples of technology keeping track of our health and alerting us timely about issues that we might encounter in the near future such as heart rate monitoring system, sleep monitoring system, etc.

Around 10-15 years ago, who would’ve believed that something as small as a watch or ring would constantly measure our heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation and many other vital stats? But today it is a reality, and there are many wearables in the market that do so. The Fittr co-founder talked about how those wearable devices nudge us throughout the day to stay hydrated or to walk a few miles. Advanced technology has been fitted into a smartwatch or a smart ring to help us improve the way we live despite our busy schedules.

Tech Keeps Us Informed About Our Loved Ones’ Health

Some smartwatches nowadays feature fall detection features, which have proved to be lifesaving. Imagine you are living in a different city than your parents, and suddenly for some reason, your parents fall and get hurt. Now, in normal circumstances, you wouldn’t even know that your parents have fallen but due to the presence of this feature in tech wearables, you would get an alert and then you can immediately call an ambulance for them.

Even when you are not physically present with your parents, you can still look after them due to the collaboration of technology with health.

If you are lucky enough to live together with your parents then you can easily keep track of their health. You can constantly measure their heart rate and blood pressure without any hassle, which will alert you the moment things go south. During the pandemic, measuring SPO2 was crucial, with smart wearables, you can do that easily too.

Rise In Heart Attacks & How Tech Can Prevent It

Jyoti Dabas at the conclave also talked about how heart attack cases are on the rise nowadays. She talked about media reports about people having heart attacks and said that it is not important where they got an attack but rather what they had been doing before it. Stress and lack of sleep for a long time can be a contributing factor in heart attacks.

Dabas emphasised how important it is to look after our health, as long-term stress and lack of sleep can cause some serious trouble for people. If we are constantly aware of our health conditions, then we can take some steps to improve it timely rather than being oblivious and waiting for a heart attack or something worse to make us start paying attention to our health.
