The shooting contingent will once again be in focus on Day 3 of the Paris Paralympics 2024 on August 31, Saturday as they look to continue the medal rush from Friday. On August 30, India won a total of 4 medals, with 3 coming from shooting. So, Rubina Francis and Swaroop Mahavir Unhalkar will once again have big medal hopes on their shoulders when they step on to the shooting range.
They will start the day with the qualification and turn their attention towards the finals if they’re able to make it. In archery, Sheetal Devi and Sarita are advancing to the elimination rounds in the individual compound open event. Meanwhile, in badminton, Mandeep Kaur and Manisha Ramadass are pushing forward in the women’s singles, with Nitesh Kumar, Manoj Sarkar, Sukant Kadam, and Tarun aiming to progress in the men’s singles.
On the water, Anita and Narayana Konganapalle will compete in the PR3 mixed double sculls repechage round, aiming to stay in the hunt for medals.
In athletics, Parveen Kumar is set to compete in the men’s javelin throw final, representing another strong medal opportunity for India.
